Whether you’re dreaming about barefoot photos on the beach, cocktails at your favorite date-night spot, wandering around downtown, or something completely different, your engagement session should feel less like a formal photoshoot and more like a really great date—with someone there to document it.

And booking your session? We’ve made that part easy, too.

 

Here’s exactly what to expect.

Step 1: Tell Us a Little About You Two

First things first: we want to get to know you!

You’ll start by filling out our quick engagement session questionnaire. This gives us a better idea of what you’re envisioning for your photos, and what would make your session feel personal to you.

Don’t worry about having every detail figured out yet. You don’t need to know the exact location, what you’re wearing, or how you’re going to pose.

That’s what we’re here for.

We just want to know a little about you two so we can start dreaming up something that fits.

Step 2: Choose Your Engagement Session

Once we know a little more about what you’re looking for, it’s time to choose the engagement session experience that works best for you.

There’s no “right” way to do engagement photos. The best sessions are the ones that actually feel like the couple in them.

Step 3: Make It Official

Found the perfect option? Let’s get you on the calendar!

You’ll complete your booking process and take care of the required payment to officially reserve your engagement session.

Once those pieces are complete, you’re booked!

And then the fun part really begins.

Step 4: Pick the Perfect Date

Next, we’ll choose a date that works for your session.

When we’re selecting your date and start time, we’re not only looking at our calendars. We’re also thinking about things like sunset time, lighting, location, season, crowds, and the overall look you’re going for.

That’s especially important here in Southwest Florida, where the difference between midday sun and that dreamy golden light before sunset can completely change the feel of your photographs.

If you have a specific timeframe in mind, let us know. Otherwise, we’ll help guide you toward what will photograph beautifully.

Step 5: Plan the Location

This is where we get to make the session feel like you.

Your engagement photos don’t have to happen in a random pretty place just because it’s a popular photo location.

We love choosing locations that either tell part of your story or help create the experience you want.

Maybe that means the beaches of Naples or Sanibel. Maybe it’s downtown Fort Myers. Maybe it’s a beautiful resort, a quiet park, your favorite neighborhood, or somewhere the two of you love spending time together.

And if you have absolutely no idea where you want to go?

That’s completely fine.

Step 6: Plan What You’re Wearing

Cue the inevitable question:

“But what are we supposed to wear?!”

We’ve got you.

Your outfits can have a huge impact on the overall look and feel of your engagement photos, so we’ll help you think through what works best with your location, the season, and the aesthetic you’re going for.

Our biggest advice? You should still look  yourselves, while also feeling your best in what you are wearing.

Think coordinated rather than perfectly matching, and choose pieces you feel genuinely good wearing.

If you spend the entire session adjusting something, worrying about how an outfit fits, or feeling like you’re dressed as someone else, it’s going to be much harder to relax.

Comfort + confidence photographs beautifully.

Step 7: Show Up and Have a Really Good Date

When session day arrives, your only real job is to show up and enjoy each other.

Seriously.

You do not need to practice poses.

You do not need to know what to do with your hands.

And you definitely do not need to spend the drive over worrying that you’re going to be awkward in front of the camera.

We’ll guide you through the entire session.

Sometimes we’ll give you a little direction. Sometimes we’ll put you in beautiful light and let a moment happen. Sometimes we’ll get you moving, laughing, talking, walking, or interacting so your photographs feel natural instead of overly posed.

The goal isn’t to turn you into professional models.

The goal is to photograph you two being you two.

Step 8: Relive It Through Your Photos

And then comes the part you’ve been waiting for.

Your photographs!

After your engagement session, we’ll carefully select and edit your images in the Love Letters Co. style and prepare your finished gallery.

Then you get to relive the laughs, the quiet moments, the kisses, the wind-in-your-hair photos, and all those little interactions you probably didn’t even realize we were capturing.

Use them for save-the-dates.
