Our #1 Florida Wedding Timeline Tip
Your Florida wedding timeline is the true groundwork to creating a dream of a day. But how to start off on the right foot? Easy, just look up! The biggest guiding light in making decisions for your wedding day timeline is the one high up in the sky, dropping lower as the day goes on: the sunset. As Floridians, we swear by using the sunset time as the basis of when to do what on your wedding day. With such gorgeous sunsets, there are peak times of the day all determined by the sunset time. So what does that mean for the couple? That means the “perfect lighting” you are dreaming up for your wedding photos depends on exactly this!
Planning your Florida wedding timeline may end up being the easiest thing on your planning to do list. Nature takes care of it for you! We have seen many a Florida sunset (and no, they never get old!) and each time we are struck by its ever-evolving beauty in every moment of the sunset. The daylight brings about the clean, crisp photos, while the fading sunlight brings the magic. And after sun is down? Time for romance and dancing, of course!
Determine the Sunset Time
Sunset times vary greatly throughout the year, no matter where you celebrate. Let’s say the sunset is at 6:00 PM. In this scenario, it might be wise to have a 4:30 PM ceremony time with a 5:00 PM-6:00 PM cocktail hour. This will ensure your newlywed and family photos have the best possible lighting. “Perfect lighting” is our forte! Which is a huge reason why we focus so heavily on letting the sunset time guide your wedding day schedule.
Tradition Timing
As another marker to guide your timeline, consider the traditions you want included in your big day. How many first dances? How many speeches? Desserts? Each of these are events within your event. And as it involves other guests, more photos, and time away from the dance floor, they need time allotted for on your timeline. All key traditions add up in time and can take away from standard portraits and dancing. But traditions important to you both are worth it! Further, some like the candid shots all the better, too.
First Look or Touch?
Sit with your spouse to be and decide on any pre-ceremony peeks. Opting for a first look, or even a first touch, can significantly impact your timeline. This will allow us to snap a lot of the photos before the ceremony in that “perfect lighting” we keep referencing! After the big reveal, we can even tackle a lot of the family & bridal party photos. And don’t worry, we can still factor in some sunset portraits, too!
In true Jiminy Cricket fashion, we say, “Always let the sunset be your guide!” 😉 It will never steer your wedding day wrong!
