#1. You want to look and feel fantastic during your session, so why not use it as an excuse to have a little R + R at the salon? Having your nails, hair and make-up done prior to an engagement shoot will really take the stress off of you! You’ll enhance your beauty to make this a photo session that stands out.
Pro-Tip: Schedule your hair and make-up trial the same day as your engagement session so that you can check-off two things from your list!
Clothing: Location & Glam are Considerations
#2. When choosing what you should wear, our first piece of advice is to choose your clothing based on the location of your session. If you are planning a beach session, usually flowing maxi-dresses for the ladies and soft linens for the guys are a definite win. If you are planning a downtown session, think chic. #3. Not only do you want to consider your location when choosing the right outfit, you also want to make sure you feel fabulous in what you are wearing. Although you may look really great in that short cocktail dress, if it’s not you, it is going to show. People tend to go stiff if they don’t feel comfortable in what they are wearing; and the LAST thing we want is you to feel like you are frozen!
#4. Shoes matter. If you have an outfit where your shoes show, (guys we are talking to you too), make sure they match. Unless you are doing a sports-themed session, tennis shoes may not be the best choice. Instead, find awesome lace-up shoes (guys) or cute heels or flats for the ladies! Once again, this totally depends on where your session location is, but nonetheless important.
#5. Address any concerns you have prior to the session beginning. Have a favorite side you stand on? Tell us! Love your hair pushed in front of your shoulders, let us know. Think of us as your best friends that you can talk to about anything. We’re here to make this an experience that you appreciate and love the way you look.
