Planning A December Wedding Without Making It Christmas Themed

December Wedding Twists & Touches

Having a December wedding is tempting for engaged couples all over for many reasons. Firstly, it is of course thee most wonderful time of the year! The magic of the holiday season adds a special touch of magic to any occasion–especially weddings. Secondly, it’s the time of the year when being with loved ones is most precious. Opting to make the start of your marriage one of the ways to gather with all of those you hold dear is above and beyond special! Plus, it makes for a really neat (and easy to remember 😉 ) anniversary date, too. Lastly, for Florida couples, this is especially sought after. December in Florida holds lower temperatures, less humidity, and even higher chances of dreamy sea breezes. It’s a win across the board!

While it’s clear to see why December weddings are so desired, some often wonder how to best tastefully pull off the season. Some may want to steer clear of adding in holiday touches, some may want small subtle nods, while others will want to go full force into embracing the merriment. It’s all about what you want! If you find yourself putting a wintry wedding at the top of your Christmas wish list, you have come to the right place! Below we are sharing three recent Florida winter weddings we have been a part of. Each wedding holds different levels of holiday touches, to best guide you on navigating which wintry route you may want to take your sleigh down. Grab a cup of cheer, crank up those Christmas tunes, and let’s dive in!

December Wedding Wonderland

CJ and Trish decided on pops of maroon against a very green scenic background. This tied in both the beauty of Florida nature and gentle pops of Christmas colors in an effortless, seamless way.

I’m Dreaming of a Pink Christmas

Dan and Hannah wanted an elegant touch of Christmas. We were honored to both plan and photograph this wedding day. Alongside the couple, we decided on all black suits for the groomsmen, and black bridesmaids dresses for the ladies. To tie in some merriment, we added pops of cranberry. The Florida twist? A wild pop of pink to give a touch of the tropics! Our favorite party of the design was customizing a signature welcome drink that was handed out to guests upon their arrival. Its name? “The Poinsettia”, of course!

The Balance of Merriment & Matrimony

Mackenzie and Thomas went for subtle winter theming at their wedding. Their celebration held wintry whites and plenty of twinkle lights! Their wedding held two weeks before Christmas was the perfect balance.

We love the many ways a winter wedding can be celebrated, and these couples showcase three amazing options to be inspired by! What we love most of all is how in each separate celebration, the couple’s personalities shined through. December holidays or not, that is always most important of all! If you are considering a December wedding, we invite you to do the very same. Make it your own in your unique way. *That* is what will make it truly thee most wonderful time of the year!
