{katie & evan} Beach Engagement Session
Yes, I know it’s hard to believe but our clients are just that adorable! We’re pretty lucky to have such amazing and genuine clients who’s love just radiates. Katie and Evan are just that couple, that kind of love that is filled with butterfly kisses and a “gonna last till were 100” kinda love! {inserts heart emoji here}. Photographing clients who are so in love makes our job SUPER easy, its basically just a “hey you two, just go ahead and be in love” and oh yeah, occasionally look over here.
After getting to be apart of their Fort Myers Beach engagement session we were thrilled to have Katie hire us to capture their big day here in Southwest Florida.
Evan and I actually won the 2017 Proposal Contest on The Knot! (link is here and you can search for “Katie and Evan”)
Evan and I met in January 2016 while we were both in New Hampshire. It was an instant spark and by April we had become official. After a whirlwind of a year, Evan received a dream job offer in Boston. I encouraged him to go but knew we would not see each other as often. We both knew we wanted to be together long term so we decided to move in together that June and our summer of beach hopping, scooter rides, drinks on any deck we could find and summer nights with family and friends had begun! We did not care where we were or what we were doing as long as we were together.
It was July 19th, 2017, a day that started like any other. Evan headed for the train to Boston and I for my hour commute to work back on the seacoast, NH. 8hrs of that Wednesday work day blew by, I was on my way home and asked Evan if he wanted me to pick anything up for dinner. He replied quickly, “No, just meet me at home.” When I got back to our place, a beautiful bouquet of flowers sat in front of me with a clue card that read “I did not go to work today, but I sure had alot to do! Head to the bedroom where you’ll find the next clue…” I was shocked at this point. Not knowing what to expect next, a trail of roses brought me to my second clue, “Bring your appetite and comfy beach clothes, you’ll find clue 3 on your shoes with no toes.” I immediately went to change and grab my flip flops, knowing very well what may be happening next. The last clue read “You’ll find me at our spot on the beach where it always feels like forever is just within reach…” I could not get in my car fast enough. I drove ten minutes to our private beach spot on Plum Island in Massachusetts and in front of me was an entire set up of roses, chairs, a blanket, mason jars with sand and candles, best of all, Evan kneeling with a ring. I was shocked, he had fooled me all day! I was overwhelmed with happiness. We enjoyed champagne, tacos and a sunset beach view. It was magical to say the least, I can’t wait to marry him.
Joining them on their beach vacation here in Fort Myers were best friends, Tiffany and Mike who are also getting married in 2019! The guys who have been best friends for over a decade decided to turn their double date into a double future, having their engagement sessions together and being best men in each other’s wedding. I think that might just be the definition of a true “bro-mance” but hey what’s life without good friends, good food and true love!
