Getting Married During the Pandemic
It’s no secret that times have changed in the wedding industry. Couples have been forced to make the decision on if they should get married, or postpone for the foreseeable future. Emily and Matt were forced to make that difficult decision too. We were so encouraged by their tenacity and love for one another that it made getting married during a pandemic just seem like another beautiful day here in sunny Florida.
They were scheduled to be married in early May with the full wedding planned; a sizable guest list, bridal party, and a beautiful venue all ready to go. But as many 2020 brides found, the pandemic forced them to make the decision to postpone their wedding day. They kept positive about it, and moved it to June 2020. When things did not look promising for their big plans, they decided to take a different approach.
You see, the most important thing to them was getting married. Sure, they wanted their dream day, but the number one reason we have weddings is to tie the knot. So they turned lemons into lemonade and had an elegant elopement with their immediate family in June.
And you know what? It was beautiful, relaxing for the couple, and at the end of the day they were husband and wife. Talk about a true love story- battling a pandemic to be married!
The best part about this story? They will get to have the original wedding they had planned next year!
