How to include your pet into your engagement session
Lately we have received a lot of requests on how to best coordinate your engagement session and dogs. And we love the idea! We love our animals and we know that the fur-babies are often times the start of a family, so why not include them into your engagement or portrait session? We’ve put together a few suggestions that we highly recommend when planning for your photography session. While also sharing some of these gorgeous engagement photos from Caloosahatchee Creek Preserve, in North Fort Myers.
~Bring a Friend
Our most important recommendation when working with pets: bring someone to help that will not be in the photographs! This may sound crazy, but in order to insure that you are going to have a relaxed and fun session, having an extra set of hands to help with the dog(s) is super important! Most people bring a family member or a friend from the bridal party to hold the dog or offer treats 🙂
~Will Work for Food
If your dog is anything like ours, they will work for treats! Make sure to bring plenty of snacks and even some water for those pups! Having a bag of snacks, water and a small bowl makes the pet comfortable and can help get these perfect shots of them smiling at the camera.
~It’s All About the Experience
Wether we are photographing weddings or portraits, we want it to be a fun and a relaxed experience. Bringing a pet is a special way to share your family with us, and coming prepared makes it that much more special! Now please enjoy a few more sneaks of Maura and Harrison on their beautiful Engagement Session (while the dogs took a little break)!
